Lighthouse Point
is a city in
Broward County,
Florida,
United States. The city was named for the
Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, which in fact is located in
Hillsboro Beach, not Lighthouse Point. As of
1 July
2006, the population estimated by the
U.S. Census Bureau is 11,282. The city is part of the
South Florida metropolitan area, which is home to 5,463,857
people. Lighthouse
Point is located at

80°5′22″W
(26.274691, -80.089414). According to the
United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of
2.4 square miles (6 km2). 2.29 square miles (6 km2)
of it is land and .11 square miles (0 km2) of it (4.58%) is
water.
